We are considering going on the Infinity in January. Has anyone been on this ship recently? Are the rooms soundproofed, does air conditioning work well, and is there enough room at the pool for people? The spa seems to take up quite a bit of space on the brochure diagram. How is the Thallossotherapy pool? We are deciding between Dawn Princess and this one. Any comments? We went on the Ocean Princess in Jan this year and loved it. We'd appreciate any input. Thanks.
Hi Sue and Mike
Just returned from an Alaskan cruise on Infinity. We had a room with a balcony, loved it, very sound proof. We were on the panorama deck, very little swaying at all, Daughter was on the penthouse deck and they had a lot of noise from engines. The food was very good, only one thing I ordered that I sent back was the Lamb. Very tough, The pool is very nice. If you are traveling with kids, they have a great Fun Factory well supervised. Granddaughter, 4 years old, never wanted to leave that. The casino was good to my hubby, he put in $2 quarter machine and hit $625. that was cool. We were on the ship when the attacks on the World Trade happened. When we were to debark at Vancouver BC, It took us 5 1/2 hours to get off the ship. Customs took so long, that was horrible. But other than that we really liked the ship, it is BIG. forever getting turned around. lol. Hope this has helped a little bit in your decision. Phyllis
Hi Sue and Mike. My hubby and I just got back from infinity repositioning cruise. The ship is beautiful (although we both agreed that the artwork was not attractive or fun). The outdoor pool area had plenty of room and the one or two days that you could actually sit outside around the pool comfortably (warmer days) there seemed to be plenty of room. I felt that there was limited space inside, around the thalosotherpay (sp?) pool but if people are outside too it should be ok. The thalos. pool is pretty cool. The middle is a relatively shallow pool (i'm 5 foot, it was up to mid-chest and on each side of the pool are these long metal formed benches that fit several people with bubblers coming up underneath. It was very relaxing. It was pretty funny when the ship rolled from side to side, the water would be up to your face when sitting on these benches and then you would be completely out of the water when it rolled the other way!! it was funny....
There is a light and healthy restaurant in the aquaspa area that we really enjoyed too. The ship is beautiful and elegant, and even though this was our first cruise so we have nothing to compare it to, we thought the cabin (we had an outside) was comfortable (of course the bathroom was pretty tight!!!) The staff are wonderful and the pampering is great.....just watch your tray in the breakfast buffet! They are so on top of things that I put my tray down one morning and went to get coffee and when i came back, my untouched tray was gone!!!! It was pretty funny. Anyhow, have a great time, food and accommodations get high ratings from us!
