Default salt water pools

Any comments pro or con on salt water pools? Princess has fresh water, but I just found out Celebrity has salt water. I heard they are drained every night and refilled. Does this hinder anyone wanting to go into hot tubs later at night? 10-11pm? Is water heated? Thanks.

Hi Sue,
One of the reasons I did enjoy our Princess cruise was that the pools and hot tubs were open much longer than some other cruise lines, and had fresh water, what a difference, not sure about Celebrity, sorry.

Sue - what ship are you on? I was on the Millie last February and we had chlorinated salt water pools - it was not drained every night.

Sue,

On the two Celebrity cruises we have been on (Galaxy & Mercury) the pools were salt water, heated, and drained EVERY night exactly at 7. Same with the hot tubs. We love Princess for their 24 hr pool and hot tub operation and the fresh water, but don't let it sway you from Celebrity - they are a great line.

I agree that Celebrity drains & cleans its pools nightly including Hot Tubs.

I was surprised on my 1st cruise to find out that the pools were saltwater (RCCL) but it didn't bother me. They were always clean.
