How is a Hawaii cruise? We have done the Caribbean and are looking for something different. Will it feel like the Caribbean where every island is just another island? We are attracted to a sailing on either the Summit or Infinity this May because of the ship and five at sea days at the end.
We cruised Hawaii last March on the Infinity. We also have cruised the Caribbean several times. Island hopping aside, there is no comparison. Hawaii is awesome. We either used Celebrity's tours or rented a car and did touring our way. Go for it and enjoy. The only negative for us was waiting for the motor coach and the time from San Diego Airport to Ensenada for the cruise departure.
GO FOR IT !!!! YOU'LL LOVE IT. MY HUSBAND AND I WENT ON THE INFINITY MARCH 28TH CRUISE TO HAWAII. I'M PLANNING TO GO BACK IN SEPT. THIS TIME VANCOUVER TO HAWAII. I'M SURE YOU'LL LOVE IT. I JUST WASN'T THRILLED ABOUT TAKING THE BUS FROM ENSENADA TO SAN DIEGO. SO THIS TIME WE'LL DO IT VANCOUVER TO HAWAII AND FLY BACK FROM THERE. ENJOY YOUR TRIP!!!
We are booked on the Summit for Hawaii--Vancouver, and are looking forward to our many, many trips to the islands. Each island is unique and cannot be com-
pared to the Caribean. While organized tours are good, a rental car is the best
way to really appreciate each island. After cruising on the inaugural of the Infinity,
we are looking forward to the Summit--and will take the cruise to Alaska after
Vancouver.
From one who has done land travel on the major Hawaiian islands, each has its own unique features, history, topography and sites to see; Volcano's, Mountains, Black Sand Beachs, road to Hana, etc. Since you are in the good ole USA, rent a car. We too are considering the Cruismates cruise May 13, 2001. Sounds like a great itinerary.
We are booked on the Infinity for 11-28-02 (Hawaii to Ensenada) and cannot wait. We plan to primarily rent cars on each island, plus do a helicopter excursion, probably on the Big Island.
It is FANTASTIC!!!! Just returned from the Mercury 12 night Vancouver-Honolulu. Just arrived home 2 hours ago after total flying of 4,600 miles. The Hawaiii cruise was my best ever!!
