Default Mercury - Cabin 8224 Noise Problems From Night Clu

I've been upgraded from Cabin 5004 which is above the theater to Cabin 8224 which is aft on the Penthouse deck right above the Pavilion Night Club. Some of the Cruisemates were kind enough to let me know my concerns about noise from the therter were unfounded. Now that I have different cabin, I would like some input about noise from the Night Club. Will I hear the boom boom of the music till the "wee" hours of dawn and should I bring ear plugs?

Thanks for any input.

Wes

I have no idea, but I do have a question:

If somebody on this board told you it was noisy, would you turn down the upgrade?

In answer to your question, I might when I get to the ship and can determine the level of the noise. I use the cabin to sleep in and enjoy the land excursions, but I can't enjoy the shore visits if I can't get to sleep at night. I view most ships as hotels that change locations. I base my cruise decisions of what ports I will visit. My brother on the other hand likes cruising more than the ports. It's nice when one can have do both.

My cruise is a back-to-back 28-day South America cruise. The size of the room will be of great benefit due to the length of the cruise. Not being able to sleep at night will not be a benefit. If someone can provide the answer, it will help me be prepared (get my mind right) with proper ear plugs or a noise masking machine.

Hi Wes,

When you get to the pier it might be too late to switch back to your old cabin. Someone else has probably been upgraded or booked into it already.

I was on the Radiance in August and had two lower floor deck rooms. We were moved up to cabins that were just above the casino. My son said he heard music and casino noise late at night. He had trouble sleeping. So be careful... not all upgrades are worth the possible agrivation.
