It's now less than six months to May 13, 2002 and the sailing of the Summit from Hawaii to Vanouver (not that I'm impatient, but my suggestion to my partner that we should go to Honolulu NOW so we won't be late was met with a brief stare and a reminder that we're both expected at work for the first five months of the year).
I've been doing some net surfing and have found a couple of links I thought people might find interesting. This first is to visitlahaina.com and contains the calendar of events for 2002; the Summit will be visit during the Celebration of Canoes, where Master Carvers from many Polyniesian nations will be making canoes, and cultural demonstrations will be taking place in Lahaina Town.
The other is link is a subsection of hawaii.com, and has links to Hawaiian cultural and historical activities and sites listed by island.
If you've found some interesting websites or have a favorite guidebook to the islands, please share!
I booked this cruise through my own TA before it was announced as a Cruisemates Cruise, but I read through these boards often and I'm pretty sure my cabin is sandwiched neatly between a couple of the Let's get Lei'd gang.
Looking forward to meeting up with this crazy group, just wondering how I'll be able to spot the Cruisemates who... oh wait... yeah, antlers. Yep, I think I can find you! (g)
