Default Dominican Republic

What is there to do in the Dominican Republic when you have one day and are in Catalina/Casa DeCampo. Where is THAT ? Anyone know....we usually do not take the ship excursions....so, what is there to do?

Thanks for the info

If you do not take the ship's excursions, you have only the "private island" experience at Catalina Island... beaches, barbeque, a few souvenier stands, water sports and the like.

Catalina Island is located off the southern coast of the Dominican Republic, near the town of LaRomana. The Domincan Republic shares the Island of Hispanola with Haiti.

The ship usually do offer tours to nearby Casa de Campo (a huge, world class resort), some other locale attractions and a superb full day excursion to the Capital City... Santo Domingo.

You can not enter the Dominican Republic, other than to Catalina Island, unless you are on a shore excursion from the ship.
