Punta Arenas Excursions

We are curious as to which of the rain forest excursions would be the best for us to take. We are both fit and ready for anything so we want to see the forest at its fullest. TIA Bob

Have you considered the Coribici raft ??? It was about an hour fron the ship.. nice ride throuth the contry side the raft excursion was fun... the guide would let it get as wild as the passengers wanted.. we were a conservative group.. but some were splashing and gettting crazy.. the scenery was beautiful.. we had a lunch at a resort (very nice) and had the use of their pool.. refreshing because it was pretty hot there. It seemed to be a good overview of Costa Rica although we didn't see the volcano... but if you have seen one volcano... you have seen them all! HAVE A GREAT TRIP!

We too did the Coroboci River Rafting including lunch and it was great. People of all ages and abilities joined in the fun. Don't forget at the rainforest it is going to RAIN! Volcano tours get fogged in due to the rain also which can be very disappointing. The Sarchi tours were very boring from the reviews by our tablemates.

We had a grand time on the Coroboci River Rafting excursion. There is nothing, save a small flea market in Punta Arenas. It is worth a visit before or after the rafting trip--you can get coffee, mola t-shirts and the like at the flea market. I got a great bracelet and earrings fashioned from Costa Rican coins.

Thanks all for the great input. We are leaning toward the river rafting after reading all your reviews. Would my lady's 78 yo father, he is good shape but a bit unsteady, be able to make the trip?

We are also interested in the rafting trip - we are on Summit 4/8/02. All the info I have seen though says it is a level 3 to 3 1/2 and you must be a strong swimmer and that helmuts are required. We went on one two years ago that was more of a "float" down the river much like the picture in another posting here (booked through RCI). It was only a couple of hours but included a lunch buffet at a local hotel/resort. Two in our party are not strong swimmers. Celebrity says this is a full day with lunch. Any info would be appreciated!!
