Default Second helpings in dining room?

Is it true that Celebrity no longer offers second servings in the dining room?

Not the first time this thought has come up. Where did you hear it?
I've not experienced this in 3 Celebrity cruises. Quite often on Mercury, I would skip the appetizer , soup, salad etc and order two entres, never had a problem.

I read it somewhere (website) - but darned if I can remember - it was about Celebrity Cruise line - just sort of an outline - and it referred to them "cutting back" and mentioned that second helpings of entrees are no longer available - sorry I can't remember where I read this but if I do I'll post it here -

when we were on Mercury, 2 years ago, our waiter did give us a bit of a hard time when we tried to order more. He would say it was hard to get more if not ordered immediately. In other words, he felt that if the kitchen is done serving the main course and on to deserts, it is hard to get another main course. When we pushed, he came aroud. I think it wasn't so much Celebrity but my waiter who was a bit lazy and liked to complain. Just what you want on a cruise. Our table actually had a lot of fun imitating him and laughing about him when he wasn't around.

On Zenith in October a tablemate orderes from both the regular menu and the vegetarian menu and would occasionally double up on soups, appetizers or entree's from regular menu......one thing no-one can complain about on Celebrity is the availa bility of food................

david d. Your waiter may have had a real long walk to the kitchen or been on the Mater'ds @!#$ list.

and he just didn't want to work hard. He complained quite abit. As odd as this sounds, I didn't mind him--but every other waiter we have had has been much better.

david d. Had a waiter like yours once on another line. Too difficult to bring both meat and lobster tail, said diferent serving stations. Hubby asked him if he accepted gratuities. No further problems encountered that week since were were a group of 4 it would have cut greatly into his income.

Will be on the Millennium in three weeks....getting ready for lobster TAILS - plural!!!!!!!

I will be ordering two right up front, they better not give me a hard time on this one.

We were on the Summit in November and formal night we were at the Captain's Table. I did not want to seem like a pig so I only had one tail and was dying for another. Soooooooooo, I will have two on the Millennium!!!!!!
