Shore Excursion recommendations

We are heading out on the Zenith in March on the Western Carribean cruise. Any recommendations on shore excursions. We are particularly interested in any experience you may have had with scuba diving excursions and visting Mayan ruins in Cozumel and Costa Maya. Thanks in advance for any advice you may give.

The ruins in Tulum are great as is Chaakunaab(sp) park in Cozumel for a beach day. Tough call. Suggest you research what appeals to your sensibilites and then decide.

We are taking the 10 day cruise out of Baltimore that stops in Belize. So far there aren't any shore excursions listed. Are they being planned? Has anyone been to Belize City and if so, what shore excursions have you done there? Any information would be helpful.

On Costa Maya, you don't have to book thru the cruise ship. If you want to see Chaccoben ruins (newly discovered, not commercialized yet) you can just go off the ship, thru the little artificial village, and near the taxi stand is a standup podium. They will take you on a tour for $45 compared to the ship's $72 in airconditioned van with English speaking driver. Only difference is he doesn't tour you over the ruins -- you do it on your own.
