Just got off the phone with Celebrity Customer Service asking about the theme for the Specialty Restaurant on the Constellation and was told that the name chosen for the restuaurant was "Ocean Liners", (ike maybe there aren't enough bits left of one single liner to predominate!)
If true, but if so I won a $5 bet with a friend who insisted the restaurant would be called Mauretania.
Trivia Question: What was the name of the first "specialty restaurant" at sea that charged a fee for dining outside the regular dining room? One hint, the year was 1906.
Right Babette! I ran across that bit of trivia in John Maxtone-Graham's book The Only Way to Cross just after I had read a message on the "Cruise Gripe" board about these new-fangled premium restaurants on cruise ships and had a good chuckle when I learned the practice began almost a century ago.
