Default Horizon

First time cruiser going on Horizon, August 10, 2002, to Bermuda. Anything I should or should not do? Single mother travelling with two teenage daughters. Is there enough to keep the them busy?

The trip out is one night , starting with the spectacular not to be missed sail down the Hudson and out into the harbor, passing Manhattan, Statue of Liberty and under Verazano Bridge. You have one full sea day ( pool , sun etc, ) and one more evening.
Then you have 3 1/2 days and nights in the best cruise destination in the world. So as not to repeat myself, go over to Destinations "other" and read the thread where I mention just a few things to do in Bermuda. Then you have an evening , sea day , another evening and you are home. Plenty to do on Horizon , one of the nicest little ships out there.
So much to do in Bermuda you'll have to go back again next year on Zenith.
We cruise twice a year and if totally up to me (Mrs Bill usually chooses destinations)
I would go once a year to Bermuda on Celebrity.

Hi FT,
You may want to just read through the section here for "first cruisers", lots of good tips. Since you are cruising during a school break, there should be other teens to hang with yours, have fun:

You and the kids will have a great time. I have gone the last 4 years on the Horizon. Last year one in our group was 16. He hooked up with a group of teenagers on the top deck as we were leaving port and we rarely saw him the rest of the cruise. He keeps in touch with everyone he met with email. He can hardly wait to go again.
Bermuda is the most magical place. Clean and friendly. The beaches are beautiful. Spend a lot of your days there. Sight seeing can be done later in the day. Enjoy!!!
