I will be on the Galaxy sailing Canada / New England on May 27. Can you tell me:
What time did you board?
What time was the life boat dirll?
How was the port in Baltimore? Clean / places to sit, etc.
How was Galaxy? Clean and new like, or in need of drydock / repair?
I would love to hear more. We are about to book that cruise in Mar 2003.
How did you like Belize? Did anyone in your group go snorkeling.
Same questions about Cococay.
How early can you board if you are Cpt Club Members?
It appears that you can look down into the verandas of some cabins on deck 9 when you are in the cafe. Is that so?
Did you drive to the port and if so any hints on parking, etc.
I sailed the Galaxy from Baltimore in March. If you have a motorized wheelchair to contend with, you do not want to use the mass parking facility. Located at the ship's terminal there is a smaller lot that you should use. When driving towards the ship, do not follow the first sign for a right turn to parking. You want to make the second right towards the ship.
We found sailing out of Baltimore to be a pleasure. It was very convenient except for the parking fiasco. Even people arriving in cabs were dropped off at the main parking area and had to catch a bus to the terminal. Anyone with a 'special need' should insist on parking at the smaller lot next to the ship.
The entire complex is devoted to cargo shipping, so there is little traffic and few obstructions to get in your way. Head straight for the ship and have a great time.
P.S. Kathy, the Thalossotherapy pool was $10/day for most guests, but free for those with suites. The price has gone down, and was still quite empty.
