Hi MAJoyce,
You will find no irons or ironing boards onboard, for that matter self serve laundry eaither. The irons are considered a fire hazzard, but they do offer a good laundry service onboard if needed. Just a packing tip, put all your hanging dresses, mens suits in the plastic cleaner bags. I have yet needed to iron, seems to work out great, so give that a try.
I've never had a problem with my hairdryer plugging in, you shouldn't either, but lately I leave it at home and just use theirs, less to pack.
Thanks! I just always have a problem with formal nights, my gowns always get terribly wrinkled and I am nervous to hand off a gown to the staff, but if you have done that, I feel more at ease. Thank you!
The ship laundry will do a beautiful job on your gown or anything else you need pressed, not to worry......but I would bring my own hair dryer, I don't care for theirs. I had no problem plugging it in by the dressing table in the room.
Irons are seriously discouraged on board ships. Possibly because the bed becomes the ironing board and people get so excited about dressing up that they forget about them?
I don't know the "why" of it. Just that they are a no-no.
If clothes are packed in individual plastiic dry cleaner bags, there shouldn't be any wrinkles to worry about.
