Good hotel in San Juan

We are spending two nights in San Juan preceeding our 11/23/02 sailing on the Constellation. Would like some comments or suggestions comparing the Caribe Hilton to the Condado Plaza. Like the location of the Condado Plaza but have heard some negative comments about small rooms and worn furnishings. Please let me know what you think, if you have stayed at both or either.

Have stayed at both the Caribe Hilton and the Condado Plaza - the Hilton wins, hands down.

We stayed at both & like the Hilton better. They have their own private beach & while small, is very relaxing & quiet, and they have a nice pool with a swim-up bar. When we were there (Nov 2000), the Hilton didn't have a casino, but were still doing alot of construction. I really don't know if they have added one since then. We stayed at the Condado Plaza in Nov 2001, & while nice, there wasn't a beach, they did have about 4 pools allthough we didn't use them because of bad weather. We thought that hte rooms were much nicer at the Hilton
I think both are good choices, but did prefer the Hilton.

Whatever you decide, hava a great cruise!!!!!!

Definitely recommend the Caribe Hilton. They have a nice beach and nice rooms. But there is no casino. Yes, they are building one to open in 2003. Hope you signed up for Celebrity's party. We are also on this sailing.

Thanks for your comments. We have switched from the Condado Plaza to the Caribe Hilton for the two nights. Yes, we have signed up for the party and have provided our names to Andy for the nametags. Looking forward to meeting everyone. Can't wait.

We stayed at the Caribe Hilton for 2 nights last February before our cruise. We really enjoyed it and would definitely return if we ever need a hotel in San Juan again. We had a great room with a balcony and view of the sea. Beautiful property and pool. Good choice of restaurants within the hotel property. It was only a 5 or 6 dollar cab ride to the forts.
