cruise Ft. Lauderdale - fly into Miami?

Hi - I am considering flying into Miami for a Ft. Laud. cruise... Has anyone done this before? How would I get to/from the hotel....?

Hi Ela,

I have done that with my family, not too much trouble. We used taxis to get around.

If you have a few days in Fla, you can rent a car in MIA airport, and return it in FLL. You can find a car with no drop off fees.

I have done this twice.
There are transfers outside of the arrivals terminal, you buy your ticket and away you go,its about a 1/2 to 3/4 mini bus ride, depending upon the number of stops along the way.

I am also considering a cruise that sails out of Ft Lauderdale. I will be flying into Miami. I am traveling solo, so a shuttle would probably be less expensive than a taxi. I would appreciate any specific info on a shuttle service--rates? company? Thanks.

Call Todd at Family Car Service and tell him what you are doing and he will take care of you. We live in the area and use him to go to the port and then he meets us when the ship returns.

We've decided to drive from Massachusetts to Ft. Lauderdale. My parents want to spend a week driving around in FL, so it seems like a perfect solution :-)
