recommendations for best ocean View cabin on Constellation?
My wife and I are looking to book the 13 dec 03, Constellation 7 day S carib cruise. Any suggestions for a Ocean View Cabin location? What are the real differences between Cat 4-8. Should we always try and get a lower cat number?
Re: recommendations for best ocean View cabin on Constellati
Hi Slam,
You can also check at this site and see where the cabins are located, size, etc. For me, I just have to have a balcony cabin, don't care where it is onboard, but try to get close to stairs/elevators if at all possible. If you are prone to sea-sickness, better to be lower and more midship, and at least have a window, that helps too.
These five cabins are much larger then the remaining standard outside cabins on the ship. Don't try calling Celebrity or looking up the square footage, as all they will tell you is that all outside cabins are 170 square foot. Not true! These cabins are even much larger then Premium and Deluxe Outside cabins with Balcony.
These cabins have the standard 170 square feet that every other cabin has, but then they also include the space of a standard balcony within the interior of the cabin, plus even a little extra space since they extend outward even further then the balcony cabins they are next to.
The furniture, bathroom, and closets are standard issue, but you will enjoy the extra floor space as well as two additional chairs (plus a sofa) that other standard outside do not have.
Re: Re: recommendations for best ocean View cabin on Constel
Thanks Ernie
We have been offered a Cat 2C upgraded to 2A for $669 pp. We may go with that.
Any ideas about the 2C,2B or 2C cabins? Are any better then the others size wise? Location wise?

Ernie,
Do you have any idea if the cabins on the back of the ship are larger than the others? Specifically, we are looking at cabin 7208. In the category 1A-1C, these look larger on the ship's layout than some of the others, but no one can verify this. Thanks...
Re: Re: Re: recommendations for best ocean View cabin on Con
Hi Kelley,
I am lucky as I have a very detailed deck plan of the Millie Class ships (actually the MILLENNIUM) from the shipyard. It shows every detail including crew areas. Unfortunately, cabin 7208 is no larger than other category 1's, but the balcony is at least double the size. I've attached a picture (private email) that should give you a good idea as to the balcony size.

Ernie
DO you have any pictures as to the Balcony sizes of a normal 2A/2C and one with the Cabins that have a larger balcony (the first 8 on either side?)

Re: Re: Re: recommendations for best ocean View cabin on Con
Kelley, We were in cabin 7181 (cat. 1C) on a late Nov. cruise, it was right above one of the suites, I believe, the cabin size was great, balcony also, as it was our first ever balcony, we have nothing to judge it by, but we were more than satisfied.
Enjoy, we would sail on the Constellation again in a heartbeat!

Hi Sam,
Attached is a picture which should illustrate this feature (disregard the
circle, that is my cabin on an upcoming cruise). The eight cabins in
question are the ones closest to the bottom of the picture. Notice how the
balconies extend all the way to the edge of the hull. The balconies are
about twice as large. Also, you have a fully unobstructed view out, and
down.... which are the only cabins to have such a great view besides the aft
suites. After the first eight cabins, the balcony indents back into the
ship which shrinks the size. Look at the higher decks and you can see a
standard size balcony.

Hi Kathy,
CONSTELLATION and INFINITY are basically identicle ships, so the same cabins I mentioned as having larger balconies on CONSTELLATION will also apply to INFINITY.
FYI, they are again for category 2C:
6021,6023,6025,6027,6029,6031,6033,6035
6016,6018,6020,6022,6024,6026,6028,6030
and
6053,6048
