Default Celebrity vs Princess

Hello:
My husband and I have always sailed with Princess. In fact, we just got back from a Princess cruise yesterday. We are trying to make plans for our next cruise and have tossed around sailing with Celebrity. We are wondering if any one has an opinion on how the cruise lines compare. We usually like a cabin with a balcony. We enjoy good food, service and the casinos. Any help would be appreciated.
Connie

Hi Connie,
We too just recently cruised on Celebrity for the first time and I'd say they are very close, I think you'd enjoy the T-pool on Celebrity ships. The only thing I missed was the pasta that you get on Princess and the fresh water pools. Both service and food are very good on both, so I'd definitely consider a Celebrity ship, I think you'd enjoy it if you already like Princess.

We are a couple in our 50's and now only sail Princess or Celebrity as we enjoy the good service, nice cabin size and fine food we find on both. Don't care for the loud party atmosphere on Carnival and don't like the smaller cabins on NCL and RCCL....we feel Princess & Celebrity are a notch above.....but must confess I lean a bit toward Celebrity....

Have cruised on both Princess and Celebrity and have found good food, good service and friendly people on both lines. I personally prefer Celebrity, but would cruise on Princess again, just not on Golden or Grand. Prefer the Celebrity ships to this Princess class.

We have sailed Celebrity and Princess quite a few times. We perfer the Celebrity ships because of the ships design and food quality found on Celebrity. We do not like the Grand Class of ships on Princess. Too many people on the Grand and the service and food do not compare......much more refined on Celebrity. We think the Dawn, and Sun Princess type of ships are fine, but have no desire to sail the Grand class again.

We have sailed on both lines and while Celebrity is excellent, we definately had more fun on Princess - somehow we found Celebrity a bit too sedate.

Either way, you will enjoy!

I am a platium repeat member on Princess cruise (13 cruises) and I never had a bad time. I have 5 time on Celebrity. Princess has better entertainment and Celebrity has better food in the main dining room. Other things are equal. I prefer the better food.

My husband and I have sailed twice each with Celebrity and Princess, with a third Celebrity cruise booked for April. Both lines are great for us (mid 40's couple). We like Celebrity slightly better than Princess because they pay more attention to the details. Their cabins are have a better layout, nicer bathrooms and much more closet space than Princess. We also thought their food was better overall, plus they have either a midnight buffet or gourmet bites each night. We had a horrible room steward on our first Princess cruise, but a great one on our second. Celebrity's staff has yet to disappoint in any way.

The main thing that Princess has over Celebrity is that their pools and hot tubs stay open much later. Also, they are more flexible regarding dress code. I think Celebrity is a bit rigid in this regard. One last thing, Princess seems to offer better deals, especially on balcony cabins, than Celebrity.

Been on 3 Celebrity and all 3 have been outdtanding. You will not go wrong on Celeb but sound like Princess is a little risky. I have also heard that the average age on the Princess is much older. We are in our 30s.
