I've been on the Horizon before it was refurbished and it was okay. Great dining room food and service. How can you not like Bermuda.
I've been on the Summit and just loved it....loved it....loved it....this is a repeater in my book. The 10-day Ultimate Southern Caribbean is fabulous.
I am going on the Constellation for the first time this October (Canada/New England) and my first time on the Millenium (Eastern Caribbean) in January.
As you can see I'm a Celebrity fan, but will I like the Century?
2008 Liberty OTS (Caribbean)
2007 Summit (Alaska)
2006 Century, Infinity (Panama Canal), Summit (Hawaii)
2005 Millenium, Voyager of the Seas, Jewel of the Seas B2B
2004 Explorer of the Seas, Constellation (Canada/New England)
2003 Horizon (Bermuda), Summit
2002 Explorer of the Seas, Brilliance of the Seas (Caribbean)
Check out the crystal table at the foot of the grand staircase, I heard it cost $50,000. We sailed Century after the Horizon & Zenith and were drooling over how gorgeous it was. We also did Summit after Century and it was even more so! You can't go wrong with Celebrity.
I don't know what you like in a ship. I personally don't care for Infinity, Summit and Constellation, especially Constellation. I like the way Century has both grand and intimate spaces. I like the Crystal room, a deco 1920s re-creation nightclub with wonderful dance floor and ambiance. I like Century's Hemisphere lounge, it's observation lounge. I like that Century does NOT have balconies in the back of the ship. I like Century's teak promenade deck. I like Century's overall size. I like Century's Cova. And Century's dining room beats the Millennium ships. All of the Millennium ships dining rooms look alike. Century's is unique to Century, has richer wood, has distinctive and maginificent columns and high back chairs and it feels special. Actually, the ship feels distinctive and special, IMO. For me the Century, Galaxy, and Mercury are Celebrity's most distinctive, characterful, and creatively designed ships. All 3 are unique and not carbon copies of each other.
We have tried most of the other Celebrity Ships, but we still keep coming back to the Century. I still feel it's the most elegant ship in the fleet. I enjoy getting up in the morning and going right from the buffet line to the open rear deck to have breakfast (have to walk through the indoor pool area on Galaxy and Mercury). The main dining room is still the finest at sea. The staff keeps the ship emaculate. We will be returning to Century in January with a group of over 50 people.
Cruz Crazy- I was in love with the Horizon and then I went on the Century and liked it 100 times more. I would be suprised if you didn't enjoy the Century. It seems to have the same smaller ship, intimate feel but also seems to be a little more elaborate. Happy cruising!
