Did this cruise last June 1 (don't remember any kids) out of Vancouver instead of Seattle. Ship is pretty. Had the nicest inside cabin ever, better than some outsides we have had. It had a small fridge. Food was ok. Personally prefer Carnival dinner menus and buffet area or NCL breakfast menus and buffet area. Shows were ok, prefer Carnival and NCL. Good room service menu (cheese and fruit tray is really good). NCL had better sushi. This is a port intensive, excursion busy cruise so nite life is limited and ends pretty early. also, time change for most travelers contributes to early to bed eves. Found fellow travelers and staff a bit stuffy.

Thanks for the reply. I am most concerned about shoes for excursions. What do you suggest?

There is a lot of walking. Wear good broken in shoes. I had new Reeboks but had worn them for a month before the cruise. My friend had brand new shoes and got blisters. This ship is very nice, very clean.

We love Celebrity and really enjoy the menus. Be aware that you can order a shrimp cocktail every night for dinner and if you don't like the choices, you can get chicken breast, strip steak or salmon every noc.

Our waiter did not tell us this up front and one of our group is a very picky eater. He was happier with the alternative choices some nights. We also asked for a cheese and fruit tray every evening before ordering and sometimes used that as our appetizer. Don't be afraid to make any request. They will bend over backwards to make you happy.

I have reviewed this cruise on this site and will be happy to answer if you have any questions.

I have seen a number of polls done on favorate ship and most attractive ship on this site and Mercury is usually the winner or way up there. She is a beautiful ship offering excellent service , food and entertainment. I spent 14 days on Mercury and it was the best of my 12 cruises.

Donna, I submitted a reader review from our 6-18-04 sailing but don't know if or when it will get posted. I'll send you a copy via e-mail link you gave above. And, as always, take it with a grain of salt, as one always does with opinions.

Went on Mercury last summer. Loved every minute. The ship is beautiful and very well kept. The staff bends over backwards to make sure you are happy and have everything and anything you need. I can't wait to cruise Celebrity again and I hope to make it the Mercury.
