is the dress code on century still a tad higher than that of RCCL...i went on teh century a couple of years ago and even the casual nights seemed more dressy tahn that of the explorer...on rccl i think you can get by with anything and everyone seemed to change after dinner on formal nights
we were on a Royal Caribbean ship in November, then a Celebrity in February, and without a doubt, Celebrity is dressier. a greater percentage of tuxes, "informal" nights with coat and tie, and cocktail dresses the norm. Even the casual nights, people were dressed better. Also, nearly everyone stays in their dinner attire throughout the night, whereas, on RCI I sat down at the show next to a man wearing a t-shirt and shorts, while I was wearing a sequined evening gown! In my opinion, I MUCH preferred the elegance of Celebrity.
So whats wrong in wanting to be dressy for an evening? The ships I have been on request the guests stay dressed in their formal-wear through the evening. Many don't but no sense in thinking those that do are "la-di-la".
