We are taking a June Alaskan cruise on the Infinity and my husband has his heart and soul set on one of the dogsled excursions. There are two available from what I can see. One in Juneau, the other in Skagway. Has anyone taken one of these? Is one better than the other and do you recommend a private tour as compared to the onboard scheduled excursion. Which one is better for the money? I wan't him to have the most wonderful time that he can and would appreciate any feedback. I don't care if the best one costs more money, I want him to have memories of a lifetime. Please help, this means alot to him. (And to me) Thanks everyone!!!!!!!
Re: Infintiy June cruise and Dog Sledding Excursion
We did the heli/dog sled excursion out of Juneau. It was fantastic and I highly recommend it. It was with Temsco helicopters.
Unless you're planning on a different flight/adventure out of Juneau, I'd recommend doing it on your stop in Juneau as opposed to Skagway.
Skagway is a cool little tourist town with some other interesting excursions available. We rented a car in Skagway and drove the White Pass highway, and had a great time. I'd choose this over the popular White Pass Railroad excursion.
