Transportation to Seward Pier

We are taking the Alaska RR from Anchorage to Seward on Friday AM 9/5. Does anybody know how close the pier is from the RR station? We aren't using transport by the Cruise line, so was wondering how to get from one to the other.

Also, it looks like we will arrive in Seward at 11:45 AM. The travel docs say we can board beginning at 1:00 PM. On Celebrity, is this time fairly accurate, or can we board before that? (We have a regular stateroom, not a suite.)

Should we have lunch before boarding, or will something be available on the ship when we get on?

The ship is right at the end of the rail line. We took it in the opposite direction. We got off the ship and walked right on to the train. It is very close.
