Default Taxi or Transfer Bus in San Juan to Ship

We're booked on the Constellation 11/22/03. Does anyone have experience with taking a taxi to the ship or using the transfer bus? There are 4 of us. What is the cost per person using a taxi and can 4 people with luggage get in one taxi? Is there a long wait for the bus to fill up?

Appreciate any help. Thanks.

Taxis are great and not overly expensive either.

Not sure with all your luggage you'd fit all 4 people in one taxi. We took a taxi to the port from the airport and they have a flat rate, you need to go to the taxi stand and get a paper filled out, cost us $18.00 plus tip. It also depeneded on how many pieces of luggage you had. I'd definitely take a cab over the bus, yes, you'd have to wait until it came and then filled up, by that time, you'd be at the pier.

In SJ is saw them all hearded up for the bus. Definitely take a cab. I think they have some larger size - minibus types as well as regular cabs. You will get out of there much faster.

They have a very organized taxi system and all sizes available. There is someone outside who will get you set up. I would use the bus to get to the ship but use a taxi to return to the airport. That way you are not at the end of the huge lines to check in for your return flight.

When we last sailed from San Juan, we got the taxi voucher and had a full size taxi van to our selves @ $18 plus extra $ for luggage per couple. Similar on the return from the hotel, where we had a new SUV. Four people would have fit comfortably including luggage. All PR tourist authorized taxi's are white with a seal on the doors. Look for a uniformed rep. at baggage claim and they will complete the voucher for your transportation.
Bon Voyage
