Celebrity's Century vs. Royal Caribbean's Radiance?

Though reasonably well-traveled I've never been on a cruise, and my husband & I are considering these two ships for similar cruises on the Caribbean in February 2004. Ideally we'd love the ability to escape any smokers' fumes, great service, excellent room soundproofing, and very few children on the cruise (we have a new baby - you know how that goes), a late-night disco, a jacuzzi/hot tub open late, and a great spa and workout area ... does anyone have an opinion comparing the two ships for these attributes, or can anyone tell me about any of the above on either of these two ships?

Smoking is allowed on both ships - not in the dining room, theatres or some lounges. If you go in February - do not go President's birthday week - there will be lots of kids on holiday. Celebrities hot tubs and pools are only open till dusk - don't know about RCL. The food on Celeb is very good.. The spa and gym's are great on Celeb. If you want to escape smoke all together you need to go on Carnival. The new cruiseline Oceana has very limited smoking as well. Enjoy. We are doing the Summit 2/2 - can't wait.

The Century will have fewer children but still may have its share depending on dates. February should be pretty safe. I would still choose the Century because of its more moderate size and a lot less glitz. Also food and service will be superior in general. I.M.H.O.

I think you will find a more active fellow passengers on RCI, but if you want a little more luxury and better food and service, Celebrity is a bettter bet. I like the ships of RCI, but the service and food on Celebrity are a notch higher.
