Was anyone on the Infinity when it ran into a huge rainstorm in Hawaii during the Thanksgiving weekend. The local news showed the ship swaying side to side in the rough waves and I just wanted to know what it was like aboard ship.
We sailed on the Infinity on Nov. 16th - from Ensenada, Mexico to Hawaii. The 4 days at sea were very rough, and it was very difficult to walk throughout the ship without holding on to a railing, and many people were seasick. Water was constantly splashing out of all the pools (especially the Thalassotherapy covered pool) as the ship swayed from side to side. There was no rain - just high winds and rough seas. In fact, when we finally reached our first port, Hilo, it was impossible for the ship to dock there. We had to sail on to the other side of the island to our next port - Kona. After that, we had beautiful weather. Any ship would have been affected by these conditions. We have no complaints about the Infinity or any of Celebrity's Millennium class ships.
Hi Cindy, Mahalo for the greeting. Since I live in Honolulu I plan to take my first cruise from somewhere other than here. I plan to take a 4 day cruise off Baja with Carnival hopefully sometime at the end of the year. Since I saw the ship on the news I was just curious about the conditions onboard. Mahalo for the info to this soon to be first time cruiser.
