Default Massages

Does anyone know if the same company has the contract on all Celebrity ships for spa services? Massages on the ships are so much better than they are in the US. Get a massage at a resort and they spend half the time tucking sheets in and under you to protect your modesty. The last massage on a boat I had, they just put a little silk sarong over you to begin with and they didn't worry about anything. It was so wonderful, so much more relaxing. Hopefully Galaxy will be just as good.

I believe Steiner has the spa concession on all Celebrity ships.

Lisa
Do you feel the same way I do about ship massages vs. resort massages? Totally different.

Monique it seems like I am only adding to your threads! How much is a massage on a cruise ship?

Steiner does it for Celebrity, as well as RCCL and a whole bunch of other cruise lines.

A basic 50 min massage is $89-$99.

It's not Steiner on Celeb anymore. They just changed to Elemis, which is a land based company. I have heard that they are a lot better, more highly trained professionals, etc.

I assume the massage rates go down the days the ship is at port? Anyone know how much cheaper? I do agree with the earlier posts that a cruise ship massage is much better. With nothing to get in the way (sheets, etc) the massage is more enjoyable.

Elemis was always the name of the products used & sold on the ships----hope the prices have not gone up--I enjoy going twice per cruise but find it's hit or miss with who you are assigned to...most are very nice & good at their work. At home I have my facials done by the same great person every 6 wks so usually I try a massage or something a bit different. Have fun!

I found the services by Steiner to be really inferior and more expensive to what I can get in my health club.
THe technique used by most Swedish trained masseuses is called diapering and incolves just exposing the part of the body that is actively beeing attended to. As a result, no clothes are necessary.
I agree on the hit or miss comment. The quality of the technicians is prety inconsistant.
