We are going on the Celebrity Century to Nassau, St Thomas, St Marteen, and San Juan. I would love to know what others have done in terms of excursions and how will the ship compare to Carnival particulary the Paradise? Is is possible to take an excursion to Atlantis (the resort in Nassau)? How can we access the pools and slides at Atlantis? What is the ship and itinerary like overall?
We just did the Eastern itinerary last month on the Victory.
We loved it so much we are booked on the Century for next January doing the Eastern again.
We went on Godfrey's tour when we were in St Thomas. It's wonderful. He picks you up at the ship, takes you downtown for some shopping, takes you on a 2 hour tour of the island and then takes you to a beach of your choice or takes you back to the ship. If you stay at the beach he picks you up about 2 hours later and brings you back to the ship.
All this for $20 per person.
Here's the website...book early as he tends to fill up
Atlantis does not allow cruise ship passengers to use the pools and slides and they even charge for a tour of the facility. You can however get a day room at the Comfort Suites which is adjacent to Atlantis and this will allow you to use the facilities at Atlantis. The security at Atlantis if fairly tight.
On the Century, I found the San Juan stop to be almost a total waste because of the late hour. The only thing is to go to a couple of shows or do some shopping. The fort which is right in front of you when you dock closes around 5:00P.M.
In St. Thomas, it depends on what you like. We enjoyed the BOB excursion, Breathing Observation Bubble which is basically a scooter that you ride around for about a half hour under water.
We were wondering how you book a room at the Comfort Suites on paradise island...can 4 adults be guests in one room or would we need two? Is this still the best way to get into atlantis or is the Comfort suites no longer even doing this? Can anyone who has actually done this give me some info on how to do this?
