who here has been to the bars??? haha

Hi all-
I was just wondering if anyone has any experience (although I'm sure you do) in the bars at night. I know that after 11:00 only 18 year olds are allowed, but are they busy? Is it a good time? Do a lot of people go there alone just to meet people or is it more catered to groups of people that are cruising together that are about the same age? I am asking because I am the only person my age in my cruising group and I would like to know what to expect. Any comments would be helpful. Thank you and happy cruising

I have been on 12 cruises and go to the bars regularly.

It is EXTREMELY inconsistant. My experience is that most of the time, there are very few people, and on occasion, they are packed. I have asked if it were groups on the packed nights, and have received different answers. I am totally surprised when they have a good entertainer in a bar and that there is never a croud.

I haven't been any help, but I would be interested in other answers to your question.

Thanks, JKL. You were a help! I too am interested to hear what others have to say. I have been on 5 other cruises, but wasn't quite into that scene at the time so I didn't pay much attention to it. Thanks, again!

I agree with JLK, some nights it is busy other nights there is nobody around. I have sailed on 12 cruises as well and go to the disco each night. Formal nights attract a crowd. You can usually count on the regular passengers that will be there each night, a few of them. In January there were about a dozen of us that closed the disco down. My last cruise was a longer cruise and some nights there were only about 15 people, it just depends.

I would go to the disco though, you can still have a good time.

Hi, some of the crew are allowed to go to the disco. For example: staff that work in the spa and salon, the officers, and I believe the gift store crew as well. They are usually a friendly group. If you don't mind me asking, what age group are you in and when are you sailing? I'm sailing in June with four teenage girls and I wouldn't mind slipping off to the disco for some adult conversation from time to time.

I'm only 19, but I'm not a crazy partying teenager my any means. This is my first cruise where I can actually enjoy the bar, so I was just wondering what to expect.

July 3rd on the Zenith I believe, but it could be the Horizon (I've been on both before, so I'm not quite sure if I am remembering correctly).
