Senior Discounts, are they automatically applied?

Are discounts for seniors automatically applied by all cruise lines?

I always cruise RCL and Celebrity and I assume my TA get's us a discount for my hubby. Maybe I should just check with her.

Senior discounts often do not exist. It depends on how well the ship is selling. They are usually last minute or temporary promotions used to book more cabins. Often the rate is the same either way.

Dear Cruz Crazy: I am a senior and have a system. There are several web site that ask if you ar a senior. Try it both ways. Celebrity does not offer senior rates on their best cabins so they will not be listed. Try again without senior and see if more cabins are shown with rates. I am on the 9/5 horizon in a CC cabin that senior rates were not offered on, but I'm going and got a good deal.

Thanks guys...my TA's website has a form that you fill out and there is a space for senior. I'll check with her the next time I book.

My wonderful husband comes in handy with his seniority. Lucky me, I got to retire at age 50 and he at age 62. Now we have more time to cruise.

There are not senior's discounts on all sailings, as a matter of course.

There are select sailings, where senior specials are offered, when one of the passengers in the cabin is over 55.
