Default Insurance for missed departure

My wife and I are on the January 9, 2005 Milenium sailing and have decided to book our own air (same day). We have,of course, purchased CruiseCare insurance. What if (heaven forbid!) we miss the boat? I've seen mixed reviews--some say that the $500 per person "catch up " expenses are only covered if you use Celebrity's air.....my TA called Celebrity and was told that it doesn't matter-insurance would still cover us... who is right?

Unfortunately, this did happen to us once - we missed the boat due to flight delays - we had booked our own air arrangements. Insurance covered the flight the next day, and 2 days hotel accommodation while we waited in St. Thomas for the ship to arrive. (We chose an itinerary that started with 2 days at sea!) It also covered all meals, incidental expenses, etc. We never go without insurance now, and we always leave a day ahead.

Same here, we always take insurance and we always go at least one, if not more, days ahead of time. It's more relaxed that way and one enjoys the departure area more too.

The CruiseCare policy is available on the Celebrity Website: http://www.celebrity.com/pdf/celebrity-CCare.pdf

That should tell you what is and is not covered...and how much.
