Hello all. My family is thinking about taking a Celebrity cruise on the Century during April 2005, and they've asked me for some advice regarding the size of the cabins. One problem-- I've never been on a Celebrity cruise! So I'm asking you guys for some expert advice. My parents would have two adults, two children and an infant traveling with them. I'm not sure if Celebrity will allow that many people in one cabin, and if they will, will it be comfortable?
Has anyone been on the Century, and can you tell me if the cabins are comfortable for families?
For that many people they would need two rooms, better yet adjoining rooms, so they had enough room and 2 bathrooms.. the standard size room is around 175 sq.ft. Hope this helps.
The category 3 cabins are shown on the site Donna suggested.......about 271 sq ft. + balcony. Some sites refer to that category room as "FV". (Family View) They are all on the stern and since there are only 12 of them on each M-Class ship they sell out fast.
Al, The original question fromGinamarie was regarding the Century and I believe those cat 3 family cabins are only on the M-Class ships. (Constellation, Infinity, Summit & Millennium)
WE are going on the Mercury in feb it is a smaller ship and they have them .I tried to get one but there are only 2 of us sailing so they said they save them for larger groups
We actually had a "family cabin" on Century several years ago when we opted for our Captain's Club upgrade but wanted to stay on the same deck as our friends. It would be fine for a family with 2 children but no way could 2 more adults fit in there. Since it was just me & hubby it was rather spacious. Better the grandparents have their own
cabin, it would be just too much "togetherness" for me.
From what I understand ( through discussion) that the suites or cabins that hold 5 are ample. If one can afford it - I might consider one of the larger suites. I have no doubt you'll have an awesome time. We just got back last weekend and we had a very relaxing and totally enjoyable cruise. ( our first one) It's not high energy, or loud....but was plenty sufficient for a husbamd who just likes to relax and a wife who likes to do things.
Hope this helps
