Cruising in Med in late Oct/Nov, good or bad?

Hi, thinking of booking cruise to Eastern Med on Millenium on 10/24 going from Barcelona to ports in italy and greece and back to barcelona on 11/7. Anyone have any suggestions if this is worth it with respect to weather. Is it too cool to enjoy the pools outside or the port excursions?

Cruising in the Med any time of the year is great. While it may be a bit chilly to enjoy an outdoor pool that is not heated, that will be more than offset by the fact that you will enjoy Europe during the shoulder season. We have been to Europe a number of times in November and December and love not having to wait on any lines. The weather while not hot is still pleasant. You probably don't even need to go on any excursions - you can do it all yourself.
By the way, another way to get around the Med is by ferry. We have taken the ferry from Italy to Greece, and traveled throughout Greek Islands, Turkey, Israel and a few hour layover in Cyprus. We did this during a three month trip of the area.

How's the weather in Sept? How would yo compare crowds in Sept to early June before school lets out?

The southern Med can still be quite warm in September - Greece in particular. It is also still very busy. The crowd seems to disipate by the end of September - or so we were told.

The Southern Med is warm even in winter. When we were visiting Sicily one Debember, it was short sleeve weather in Dec.
The weather in September will be quite good. We did one tour through Europe one November, and it wasn't that cold even in the northern countries. I avoid Europe during the summer - too hot, too many tourists, and too many lines. Go in September and you will have a great time.

We are booked on the 10/24 cruise also. Weather should be in 60's and 70's
