Just tried to book Sky Suite on 3rd Sept 2005 Infinity San Francisco to Alaska and advised by Celeb UK they are all sold out already. Is this possible? Agent thought there might be a large group booking holding them - anyone know who this might be?

Because some will come available in the days before sailing as people cancel, you might have your TA recheck this - or go through the celebrity website yourself- www.celebrity.com
It's possible a group may be holding them, but its getting pretty close to a final commitment time. Actually on early reservations, I think you have to pay your balance in full 60 to 75 days before sailing or Celebrity will cancel for you.
Sorry ignore my first post on this - I was reading your message as September 2004 - not 2005. Your TA is probably right about a group reserving the block or sky suites. Our TA told us some tour operators do this then cancel the unsold rooms later on.
This has happened to us on other cruises. You can always book a lower level of room on this cruise (suggest doing a lower level - like a suite or CC class) then change your reservation with an upgrade if the sky suite becomes available. I think Celebrity is usually agreeable to an upgrade on the same ship for the same sailing date- transferring your deposit on an upgrade.
