Stone Island (Mazatlan) tours

Has anyone had any experience with tours to Stone Island? I see a number of tour operators (King David, Puesta del Sol, etc.) at various websites and wondered if anyone had any recommendations. Thanks.

I have not used them, but I can highly reccomed that if you want a nice day (and affordable) the El Cid Resort and Hotel happily allows guests to use their pool area. We were impressed with the beautiful pool and water areas surrounding the hotel and we bought some food and cocktails by the pool. We went shopping in the surrounding area and took a cab back to the ship. Be aware that if you have been to the Carribean you may be dissapointed with the beaches in Mazatlan. The peddling of useless items on the beach is non-stop and can ruin your visit.

So glad you posted with this idea...How much was the cab? Do you need res for this hotel? Did you feel safe in the shopping area? We will be going for the first time & are looking for a quiet relaxing day...What type lunch menu ws availabe?
