We will be on that transatlantic also.
We called our banks foreign exchange number and got British pounds and Euros.
We plan on using our credit card when we are in London (4 days) as much as possible and the other ports where feasable.
If going into London early British pounds of course for transportation needs, tips, and small incidentals. You can exchange at the airport and hotels but that rate is outrageous.
Belfast, Ireland uses the pounds. Be advised that this country takes the paper british pounds and not the coinage or at least they really don't want to.
Cork, Ireland uses the Euros.
France the Euros.
Iceland is the Kroner I believe.
Also have them call their local bank and see about using the ATM in those countries and if there are any fees.
As said the rate of exchange on board is not good.
If I can help further jot me an e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
