We are taking this same cruise on November 13th. Since this is a new itinerary (at least for this ship and from this port) I will be among those who 'tell all' upon returning. I'm sure it will be a great cruise though based on all I've read about both Celebrity and the Galaxy.

Go to your local library and get the Fordors book .Look for the ports that you are going to and read up on it and it may help you with where you want to go.
We took the Panama canal cruise about five years ago and loved it.Just be on the deck when you go up and down in the locks.we went crazy going from the bow to the stern. When you are going down to look up and see the ship behind you up above you .It is one of the best cruises we have been on .We have been on 27 cruises.

ENJOY

I'm sure you'll love the ship and itinerary. We were on the Galaxy
a few years ago and it was great.

Grand Cayman - we loved the Cockatoo Catamaran to Sting Ray
City...it is a youngish crew, and a lovely catamaran ride to
Sting Ray City (actually a sand bar) and a wonderful encounter
with these awesome creatures. Most of us on the Cockatoo,
said it was one of the best shore excursions we've b een on
(It was our 11th cruise at that time) It wasn't overcrowded and there
was lots of individual attention from the crew.

Have been to several places on this one- and what you need to work out is where will your "active days" be and where will you chill out on a beach
For me, Cozumel has to be one of the Mayan ruins like Tulum or the Xcaret Park- it will fascinate you how that civilisation existed
In Costa Rica we did a banana plantation tour - not only did we get a real feel for life inthat few hours - and had such fun with local children - the journey to and from the plantation was very interesting and our guide gave us such a good insight into the pace. I would not venture in Costa Rico on my own - we did not even stop at the pierside shops.
In Panama, as we were not transitting the canal, we went on the excursion that drove us to Panama City and brought us back through Mirafores Locks before going on a short tour. Going through the locks in a small small boat (100 passengers) gave us such a different insight to the larger ones - especially as we could move from side to side and back to front in seconds, so got great pictures and really appreciated the scale of things
Grand Cayman will I supopse depend on how the island is by then - we have tended to use this and St Marten as our beach/catamaran trip places though we did go to Hell (commercialised but great to send the vicar a postcard from) and Turtle Farm - good but crowded and a bit rushed

Hope these help and have a lovely honeymoon

We just got back from the Galaxy-great ship!. In Cozumel, we rented a jeep and drove around the Island. It was one of the highlights of our trip. We saw all the little beaches and great scenery-at our leisure. Stop at San Fransisco Beach-they were so warm and friendly, not pushy-the beach was great there. Also, stop in the No Name Bar and tell Sonny that Nancy and Gary said hi!

Wed cozumel, mexico - Try the trip to their national C.... park for beach, scuba
9:00 am 6:00 pm
Thu costa maya, mexico - Loved this port. You can do ruins, but for free you can swim in pool, watch local entertainment, swim at beach, and use the internet for a very reasonable price, all in one easy location.
7:00 am 1:00 pm
Fri at sea
Sat panama canal (cruising canal) - Once your through, pretty boring..... try to get up front (way up front) at least one hour prior to the ship entering the canal. On our cruise (Celebrity Infinity) they opened the area of the ship usually reserved for the crew only, at the very tip of the ship (i.e Titantic movie style). They didn't advertise this fact but word got around, probably from the waiters as we got our info.
7:00 am 3:00 pm
Sat cristobal pier, panama - The only thing you can do here is spend money at the pier. But some great values. Inside will be a flea market environment, everybody with the same souvenier junk... but, go into the more permanent shopping area to your far left and and get great buys on perfumes, booze and smokes, besides other things.
3:00 pm 7:00 pm
Sun puerto limon, costa rica - I also thought this wasn't a port to walk around in, that is before I did it. No problemo! Don't buy from vendors inside the port area. Just proceed straight out the port gates, straight down the road with the park on your right. Go to where you'll see the wide street opening on your left. Get your coffee at the supermarket downtown. At the pier, 3 bags for $10 (ONE FREE CANVAS BAG), in the supermarket, 6 bags for $11.00 (2 FREE CANVAS BAGS), for the EXACT same COFFEE. Money exchange absolutely no problem. Then, I tagged along on a van cruise booked inside the port, directly in front of the ship, which not only gave us a tour of the countryside, but an hour + riverboat ride where you get real, real close (within inches) of slothes. And then we even toured a banana plantation (and went by the pineapple plantations. The cost for this escorted tour was $40.
7:00 am 7:00 pm
Mon at sea
Tue george town, grand cayman - StingRay city is a must. Booked with Captain ? (famous name, but I forgot it), just about two blocks left of where the tender drops you off.
8:00 am 6:00 pm
Wed montego bay, jamaica - Never been there, don't plan to, don't go alone, but I heard that a tour to a water falls is very lovely.
7:00 am 6:00 pm
Thu at sea
Fri at sea
Sat galveston, texas - I was there on Labor Day a few years ago... what a disappointment --- sorry Texan's - Loved Houston .....

We are sailing the 11-day Galaxy to PC in Feb. We have been to Cozumel and Grand Cayman before on our W. Carib. with Explorer. I don't know yet what excursions are available through Celebrity, but a lot of cruisers do things on their own.
In Cozumel we went to the San Gervasio ruins, only a few miles from port. It was a great stop with a bus driver of Mayan ancestry, who was very knowledgable. Then we went to the beach and enjoyed the sunshine, not too plentiful on our first two stops. (Labadee and Ocho rios)
In Grand Cayman, we did Stingray city in a "See-Sub", a semi-submersible, with good views of the rays. DH had just had eye surgery and needed to keep his eye dry. This time I will go to the sand bar even if he doesn't--he's not too fond of being in sea water anyway. We also went to the turtle farm, which evidently was wiped out by one of the hurricanes last month. Hell was amusing and we got some good pics and post cards.
My daughter and her DH spent their honeymoon at a Sandals Montego Bay and other areas of Jamaica and loved it. We did Dunn's Falls in Ocho Rios, but can't remember what is in Montego Bay.
