We will be sailing on the Summit LA to LA Hawaii cruise March 2006. Although it seems like a very long time away(which I guess it is)I would like to get any information about where the ship sails from. How far is the port from the LA airport, is it difficult to get to, what is the best way to get there and are there any hotels close to the port? Any information would be greatly appreciated. We will be arriving in LA from New York.
The Port of Los Angeles is located in the San Pedro area....about 25 miles from LAX. L.A. Harbor is approx. a 35-45 minute drive from LAX depending on the traffic. It is not difficult to get to....we have the best freeways in the world if you know where you're going..ha! There are plenty of hotels in the San Pedro area. I personally prefer Long Beach for a nice hotel. There are several websites you can visit for info...SanPedro.com or portoflosangeles.com. Lots of info for directions to the Port and to local hotels.
Depending on the hotel you select, you may be able to get a free shuttle from LAX to your hotel and then to your ship. If not, there is always the Super Shuttle or many other options including a cab or a rental car.
