I have lately not read very good experiences others have had with transfers provided by Celebrity from the airport to the port and visa versa. Any advice or recommendations?
We just used Celebrity Transfers from San Francisco Pier to the airport. We had absolutely no problem at all with them. The bus driver was wonderful and actually gave us a narrative tour on our way out of San Francisco to the airport.
Also had transfers when we did Mediterranean 2 years ago Venice to Barcelona. Again, no problems.
We will have them again in July when we do 10 night cruisetour to Alaska on Summit.
Hi Dim,
What port are you talking about. We usually just get a cab, but depending on where you are cruising from, the transfers may be the way to go. Our next cruise is out of Pt. Canaveral and we fly into Orlando, for that we are doing the cruiseline transfers, but usually we just cab it, its easier, faster and usually cheaper.
We are flying from PHL to San Fransisco then flying home from Vancouver to Philly. We went with Celebrity booking our flights and providing ground transportation. Leaving on 6/9/05 for 10 day cruise. Did I make a mistake?
We have never had a problem with Celebrity. They even collect your luggage when your flight comes in. Going back it has been my experience that tehy take you by when your flight is leaving and they get you there in plenty of time.
From Miami Port to FLL airport best to take ship's transfer--much more economical & you get off the ship earlier than if you are on your own. You may have a wait longer for the bus to fill & leave...but it worked well for us recently. From Port Eevrglades--cab is best to FLL & from NYC a limo is best--guess it depends on from where to where????
I don't know what could be "wrong" with Celebrity's transfers other than what in some places is the high price compared to other transportation that's available. After all, a bus is a bus. Absent mechanical problems, there's not much you can say.
Unless they're two cities you're very familiar with, I'm just sorry that you won't be visiting either San Francisco or Vancouver, which are both wonderful places. To me, that's the big downside of a cruise line transfer: they guarantee that you won't see the cities of your departure and arrival. And sometimes, they're the most interesting places on the itinerary!
You can either take Celebrity Transfers for $20 per person or a taxi which will cost your around $45 total or the SuperShuttle at the SF Airport. The shuttle I believe was $13 per person.
It's really just personal preference. They are all fine options for San Francisco.
We are taking a cruise from Galvasten, TX in January and returning tio the same port.
Does anyone know about getting from Huston to Galvastin?
Celebrity wants $76.00 per person one way and there are 4 of us.
Any suggestions?
Jan
Thanks
Will givee that a try.
We are taking a cruise on the galaxy 1/21/05.
Will be on the penthouse deck. If people are having trouble on the sky deck i don't know what to expect. This is only our second cruise, the other was the inside passage to Alaska. We drove to Canada so we ddidn't have any transportation trouble.
