Default cabin selection- Constellation

Has anyone traveled on the Constellation in the Sky suite on deck 8 near the elevators? They are handicapped cabins & was told that they were more spacious. What are the pros & cons ? Does the elevator block the view from the balcony?
Between the handicapped cabin & a Sky suite cabin on Deck 6, which is the better one?

The handicapped cabins are roomier, but if you book those cabins and are not in a wheelchair or handicapped and someone who is handicapped request that cabin, my understanding from Celebrity reservations, is they will move you. You might find yourself in a cabin and on a deck that are less than desirable by then. I'd check it out carefully first.

I am a cruise specialist and I tour cruise ships often - the handicapped cabins do have more space, but the layouts of the cabins are sometimes different to allow room for a wheelchair to pass. Personally, I'd prefer to have a standard stateroom or suite.

The elevators and centrally located staterooms, where lots of people pass by on their way to public areas or their staterooms can be loud. People aren't necessarily talking loudly, but for some reason, just the sound of the footsteps and conversation can seem loud. Kids run to the pool. Someone calls down the hallway to ask their friend to bring their purse. You know, nothing unusual, but just noise.

Often, I recommend doing a stateroom location that a few doors down from the elevators - just to the front or rear of the stairway/elevator landings. It cuts down on the everyday noise, but you have fewer people walking by, but still have easy access to the public areas.

Have a great day!

Thank you both for your replies. The one concern that I had with the cabins on the Penthouse deck were the life boats. Would that be an obstruction? Would there be a lot of noise from the entertainment deck?
The Panorama deck is at a great level. There are cabins above & below that deck.
I am not too concerned about the noise from the elevator as I am with the inside of the cabin & the amenities. I was trying to find a photo of a handicapped suite but have been unable to find one.
Most of the Sky suites are in deck six . Between 6115 & 6129 which do you think is preferable. Is there any privacy at all in the balacony in 6129. I noticed that the balcony next to it 6129 extends out.
Is the port side better than the starboard side. The other two available cabins are on the starboard side. We are on a Baltic Sailing.

I have done SS's on Constellation twice, with a third coming in November. All have
been on the Penthouse Deck and we like it there a lot. We have had no problem with

There can be issues with life boats from the deck 6 suites, or CC's. They are
well below, so there is no obstruction looking directly outward. However, if you were
to stand on your balcony and look straight down, you might be looking at the top
of a life boat.

If you can get one of them, 6131 or 6132 are hidden treasures on deck 6. There are
no life baots anywhere near them, the rooms are about two feet longer than the other
SS's, and the balcony is twice as large. The extra space is a bonus due to the widening
of the ship at that point. If you look at the deck plans you will see what I mean, and you
can actually see a photograph of this balcany on a sister ship (Infinity) right here at
cruise addicts. Go to the main page and select staterooms, and thereafter Celebrity.
It will lead you there.

Hope this helps.

Deck 7 & 8 are very nice/ Avois cabins next to the suites though as you may get a smaller balcony--esp on deck 8
