I've been so lucky on other cruises to receive cabin upgrades. I'm cruising Zenith out of Miami in December and have noticed that all of the inside cabins are now closed. I've booked CC class and noticed that the Royal Suites and about seven other suites are still open. Any chance of an upgrade?
Probably not. Only got one upgrade when I booked an inside guarantee on the Zenith. We were upgraded to an outside. Have been on many Celebrity cruises. Once they assign a cabin, you're in it. Pick wisely. Their policy is to not upgrade. It encourages people to book up and pay more.
It is very rare that Celebrity upgrades especially from a Concierge Class. You can upgrade through Guest Relations/ Concierge if you are willing to pay more. It is a reduced cost. Mind this, that jumping from a CC to a Royal can be very costly, getting a Sky Suite if available is a lot less.
All the times we sailed with Celebrity have never gotten an upgrade, we always book balconies.

for captain club members they do one category upgrade from inside to inside and oceacnview to oceanview. unless you have a guarentee. they will enver give you a free upgrade in a baclony or suite unless something is wrong with your room.
Thanks for the responses. I'm perfectly pleased with the cabin that I've chosen and know that it will be a wonderful cruise. But it never hurts to ask or wish! I've received unexpected upgrades on other lines (HAL and Carnival) and was curious if anyone had been upgraded on Celebrity.
Last year after losing our luggage, the customer service tried to SELL us an upgraded cabin. They said we'd have more room for our clothes. Since our luggage was lost, we hardly needed the room and declined the upgrade. The cost of the upgrade wasn't cheap.
