Default What, No Horizon Last Cruise Reviews??

Horizon has now officially left the Celebrity fleet & I haven't seen much about her last cruise. How was it? Did they have any ceremony? I think it's sad that Celebrity's first (new build) ship leaves the fleet with little or no fanfare after 15 years of proud servie.

I saw on another board that the last cruise was horrible. Bad service, broken chairs among other things. Roaches in the buffet and generally everyone with a bad attitude. It seems a shame for such a glorious ship to go out in that fashion. The Horizon was my first cruise experience and the reason that I am still cruising. No farewell party. What a shame.

When the Horizon first entered service it was home ported in San Juan doing 7 day cruises to Antigua, St. Lucia, Barbados, Martinique and St. Thomas. We sailed it way back then and always loved it. A couple of years ago we were able to sail her again from Tampa and at that time it was still a great ship.
Will always be one of my favorites and really hate to see it headed for oblivion, which is what will ultimately happen. Very sad to see her go.

It is sad that there was no farewell.
We were on the Song of America just before leaving the RCL fleet. It had been sold and was not in good shape. The cruise line just did not want to put more money into the ship since it had been sold.
I'm not picky but the overall conditions were poor. I guess it is like anything we get tired of and want to get rid of, no sense in putting dollars into something that is going out.

We were on the Horizon in September and there were several areas of the ship that were showing some real wear - particularly the outside decks on the back of the ship.

We too were on Song of America near the end of its career with RCCL - same situation.

Too bad they let these ships go down hill like that.

Horizon was the first ship I sailed on. She got me hooked on cruising. Sad to see her go.
