My husband and I are leaving 11/11/05 for the 10 day mexican riviera cruise. First timers. Here's the problem. DOCUMENTS. EEGAAADS! I have my original birth certificate and my U.S. drivers license. Hmmmn. Too bad the names don't match because, not only did I add a name to my original name (easy before 9/11. Just had to call IRS, SS, DMV), but I've been married 4 times. I called Celebrity and was literally hung up on by the operater!!! I called immigration and they said I have to have every bit of paper trail leading up to now. OH DOCTOR! Talk about airing my dirty laundry! Between marriage/divorce papers, who'll have room for clothing? Tell me I'm not the only "Aisle Tripper" to ever cruise before. I don't want to have any problems returning to U.S.
Good luck Care, it sounds as thought you might be in for a bit of a hassle.
One important word for the future: passport!

It needn't be that painful. Marriage certificates normally show a woman's maiden name, so your most recent marriage certificate and your birth certificate should be sufficient. If you changed your name through a court proceeding (other than reverting to your maiden name in a divorce), you also should obtain a copy of the court order.
If you want to be safe, get this information and two passport photos and go in person to a passport office near you. If you have the proper documentation, they can issue a passport on the spot for an extra fee. If not, they will tell you what other documentation you need.
