Default Cape Liberty/Bayonne NJ Port Question

Has anyone ever sailed out of this port? We are trying to figure out if we can take the NJ Transit train or a bus instead of paying to park $12 a day at the port while on our cruise. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I checked the Port's website and this is what I've come up with:

There is a light rail station located in Bayonne, just 3 miles from Cape Liberty Port. RCL provides a complimentary shuttle bus between the station and Cape Liberty Cruise Port. Light rail connects to AMTRAK and PATH trains.

I hope this helps.

Is there a cruiseline bus from LI? Royal used to offer one--can't see taking Amtrak to NYC & then what? to NJ with luggage--wish they stayed in NYC even though it was the pits!

I'm not sure about a bus from LI. But, they do offer a ferry from NYC.

I was on CONSTELLATION out of Bayonne this past November. A few people from Long Island did this:

Two couples rented a van from Enterprise and asked one of their neighbors to drive it back for them. Cost was $50 or so, if I recall correctly. If you have grown kids, that would work, too.

Thanks for the info--that would really be asking alot---it is not exactly an easy drive from LI--friends who used Royal got a bus so maybe one would be offered-- esp if we booked with a local agent who has a group going.

You can check with your T/A about the bus - or directly with Celebrity customer relations.

You can take mass transit to the lite rail. There is a lite rail stop right next to the port entrance. As for the bus to and from the ship - I have no knowledge of. But have had people tell me it is there.

Then from the lite rail stop it would be a bit of a walk to the ship area - maybe a cab from there. As they are passing by at that time.
