Hi, my friends call me Rosey Girl. I just signed a summer contract to work with the children on Galaxy. I start on July 3rd 2006 in Rome. This is my first time working on a cruise ship and I'm used to my California wheather. It's good and sunny there, right? Is anyone ealse going to be on staff there too? Do you have any tips for me?
Hi, my name is Terra but all my friends call me Rosey Girl.
So you get to go play in European ports all summer and, better still, get paid for doing it???
*turning absolutely verdent Kelly green with utter envy* How kew-el!!!
Actually, the best part of that job is that the children's programs don't operate when the ship is in port so you really will have time to go play, and Europe's ports really do have a LOT to explore. Have fun!
P. S.: Don't worry about the weather. The weather in the ports of call usually varies from hot to very hot in July, August, and September. October and November tend to be milder, and thus better for sightseeing, if your contract is that long.
I agree with Furn it sound really good! I didn't know that the child care program was closed for the ports of call. I thought they stayed open so the parents could go off and have fun alone. Nice to know thanks. As for the wheather I'm so happy to hear it's worm. I have only been in Rome in the winter. God knows us Calie girls need our sun:-)[/img]
Too bad you will miss the repositioning cruise from Texas to Rome May 5th. A perfect way to get there and a good "warm up" as not as many kids I would imagine since school in not out yet. (that won't stop us, I pulled them out early).
Maybe you could still work it out with them. Anyway have fun and we are sorry we will miss you.
Hello C, C, & H,
I did know about the May 5th crossover and I wish I was on it too.
If I'm right I think it's about a 16 day cruise. But keep in mind it's a hard cruise to make because of the hour changes every day. You should enjoy it, it has some great ports of call & although there are lots of at Sea days the Cruise Staff will keep you busy. I have a friend who works on the Galaxy now and will be there for that cruise. His name is Johan Saayman & he's from South Africa. He is an Assistant Maitre d' in the main dinning room. You might get him for your table. Even if you don't, just tell him that you know Roseygirl & he will give you the best service of your life!!!
Our family of five will be onboard the Galaxy July 3rd sailing as well. More than likely you'll be seeing our three kids at some point of the cruise (ages 9, 10 and 11). Our daughter especially as she loves to play/help out with the little ones.
We're certainly looking forward to a great cruise - see ya on board!
I'm glad to here that you guys will be ondoard with us. My contract changed and will start this Monday so I fly out of L.A. this Sat. My name is Terra Price by the way. I look forward to meeting you and your family. Your daughter sounds like she will be a great help to us and I hope she will enjoy her cruise in the Med. I don't know what age group I will be working with yet but chances are that I will run into all of you. Take it easy and see you there,
