Well I had been on the Horizon, which was the sister ship of the Zenith and I must admit, I was not thrilled with the decor of the Horizon.
This had been my second cruise with the first being the new Explorer of the Seas and then the Brilliance of the Seas and I was dissapointed with the look of the Horizon.
But the itin to Bermuda is the best any line offers and I was very impressed with the service and food. So I didn't let the look of ship discourage me from booking another cruise on Celebrity. I then booked the Summit on a 10-night cruise and I was hooked on Celebrity after that.
My recommendation is to try Celebrity's Millenium, Infinity, Constellation or Summit on your next cruise. I don't have one favorite over the other. Except the Costellation has a fabulous pianist/singer in Michael's Club, so that is my favorit Celebrity ship so far.
Now when the new Solstice and Equinox comes out...my opinion might change.
2008 Liberty OTS (Caribbean)
2007 Summit (Alaska)
2006 Century, Infinity (Panama Canal), Summit (Hawaii)
2005 Millenium, Voyager of the Seas, Jewel of the Seas B2B
2004 Explorer of the Seas, Constellation (Canada/New England)
2003 Horizon (Bermuda), Summit
2002 Explorer of the Seas, Brilliance of the Seas (Caribbean)
Having been a Celebrity cruiser since Chandris days I have had the advantage to sail most of the ships several times. This is over a period of manyl years to many different destinations.
My vote for favorite ship is the Mercury because cruise after cruise and year after year they seem to deliver a very good product. Its hard for a ship to offer consistantly very good cruises year after year.
I will admitt the Century class of ships is my choice over the Millie class.
I am looking forward to sailing the"improved" Century next year.
Many people rave about the Millie class of ships, but I always seem to have a better crew or staff on the Mercury and enjoy my cruise more.
Have been on Summit twice (pre & post the cirque disaster), Constellation & Mercury twice. Mercury is the favorite even though all are very nice. Merc. is just the right size with fewer guests , has a great T pool & spa area & just seems a bit cozier & special.....
