Default Laundry Rooms - Summit

Am I seeing correctly that there are no self-serve laundry rooms on board the Celebrity Summit.
We sailed the Golden Princess last year and although we didn't wash in the laundry rooms we found them very handy for ironing.
Is paying for ironing our only option on board the Summit. Is it very expensive?

Right.. there are NO self laundry facilities on the Summit.

They do have ironing services available, however I recommend a small travel steamer. They do a fine job, with little effort.

I take Downey Wrinkle Release with me on all my travels...works very well on most fabrics. Last thing I want to do on any cruise is iron. Plus I make sure I take clothing that is wrinkle resistant and pack them in dry cleaning bags in my suitcases.

In fact, there's no self-service laundry facilities on any Celebrity Cruises ship. The company apparently thinks that passengers on a "premium" cruise line would not want to do their own laundry.

But if you have a pressing problem while aboard, the ship's laundry will be happy to solve it. I don't know the exact rates for laundry services, but the consensus of comments that I have seen on this and other discussion boards is that the rates are very competitive.

Norm.

I've used the laundry services on the Summit on my last 14-night Hawaii cruise. I didn't find them to be very expensive. I'm able to pack less (now that's there's a weight restriction when flying). I used them for my hubby's dress shirts and everyday pants.

If the clothes just need pressing, I just have them do that which is cheaper than washing/cleaning and pressing. I still bring a steamer and use that as well when I can. I use to bring a travel iron with me, but I know they don't want you to have one, so I now leave it home.

Personally, when I'm on vacation not only don't I want to cook, clean, make the bed, I don't want to wash and iron. I have plenty of that to do when I get home.

Happy cruising!

Below is a link to the prices for the laundry services. They are very comparable to those I pay at home and I will very often not have things pressed at home and just give them to the steward when I get on the ship.

We were on the Summit on Jan 6th through the Panama Canal. Try "rolling" your clothes - take up much less space and really minimizes
"wrinkles". I wish Celebrity would rethink the self-serve laundry option -
I really would rather wash my own lingere/personal items.

Yes, that's right: there are no self-serve laundry facilities. We just purchased a small steamer (very much worth it!!) to take on our September cruise because we've spent an arm and a leg for pressing! Will look into the Downy Wrinkle Release too. Thanks!
