Default Changes After Michel Roux Departure

We're getting ready to sail on the Galaxy in 3 weeks, and I am curious whether there has been a change (for the better or worse) in the one thing we all keep coming back to Celebrity for --- the cuisine. Have the menus changed?

Apparently not yet and I believe his contract doesn't expire until the end of March. Not certain but read that somewhere.

Good evening,
Yes, Roux's contract, expiring 31st March, has not been renewed. The changes thus triggered will trickle through over the next few months; however, new menus were reported to be introduced imminently, like just about now, fleet-wise. The substance of those ''new'' menus is unknown at this time but I'm sure that various boards and their posts will tell us a thing or two about that issue within days.

Cheers
Happy sailings
Claude

The press release about the end of Chef Roux's contract clearly indicates that the end of the relationship will not be so abrupt as the rumor mill seems to believe. In particular, it states explicitly that Chef Roux will continue to provide his personal assistance during some transition period and will remain available as a consultant thereafter. The same press release also states that the day to day management of Celebrity's food and beverages will remain in the hands of the staff that Chef Roux trained.

It appear that the rumors of a massive change in Celebrity's cuisine have been greatly exaggerated.

Norm.

What ship are you talking about? We are sailing on the Century in April
and I do not want beans on a cruise.

Good evening,
New menus were rolled out on Millie during her TA at the end of March.
It is unknown in which order the other ships in the fleet will get them.
Another board has a ''review while on board '' thread; apparently, new menus are actually bigger and look acceptable.

Cheers
Happy sailings
Claude

The "new menus" on that cruise supposedly are experimental. The line is gauging passenger reaction. If passenger reaction is negative, the rest of the fleet won't see them.

That said, I think that Celebrity's menus need more variety in styles of cuisine. For many passengers, French cuisine grows old petty quickly. I personally prefer Pricess's traditional menus, which feature a different style of cuisine (French, Italian, Greek, German, Russian, Alaskan, International, etc., depending upon destination and length of cruise) each non-formal evening, with the first ("Sailaway") and last ("Landfall") dinners being American.

Good afternoon, Norm
From what I understand, the ''new'' direction taken by ==X== is much more aligned with RCL's menus & cuisine philosophy.
That was to be expected, if indeed its' true. I-E: there already is somewhat more pre-cook // frozen food taken on board...and I'm not referring to fruits.
We'll just have to wait and see.

Cheers
