European & Transatlantic Inineraries for 2008
Celebrity has issued two press releases announcing European and transatlantic itineraries for Celebrity Cruises and for Celebrity Expeditions in 2008. Here are the highlights. There's also some information on the company's British web site. All of these itineraries apparently are now available for booking, though they do not appear on Celebrity's web site.
>> MV Celebrity Century goes from Miami to return to Amsterdam on 28 April, then offers round trip cruises to the British Isles, Scandanavia, and the Black Sea thoughout the summer. The repositions to Barcelona in September for round trip cruises in the western Mediterranean, and departs Barcelona for Miami on 01 December. Most of her sailings are twelve (12) to fourteen (14) nights.
>> GTS Constellation returns to the Baltic, but will operate from Harwich rather than Dover. She departs Fort Lauderdale on 11 April and offers one cruise in the British Isles before beginning her Baltic itineraries. She somehow gets to Barcelona (possible charter?) for a Transatlantic cruise to the company's Cape Liberty Cruise Port in New Jersey on 08 September. Upon arrival in New Jersey, she will do several cruises to "Canada and New England."
>> MV Galaxy will offer alternating ten (10) night and eleven (11) night cruises from Civitavecchia from May through November, followed by a Transatlantic cruise to Miami in early December. It's not clear how she is getting from San Juan to Civitavecchia.
>> GTS Summit will replace GTS Millennium in Europe, offering a twelve (12) night cruise from Southampton to Barcelona on 29 April followed by twelve (12) night cruises cruises between Barcelona and Venice followed by fourteen (14) night cruises *** and a transatlantic cruise from Barcelona on 29 November.
See the Celebrity Cruises press release for more details and the information on the company's British web site for exact dates.
>> MV Celebrity Quest will offer a fourteen (14) night transatlantic cruise from Miami to Civitavecchia on 12 April, followed by a variety "cruises though a Europe less travelled," most of which are fourteen (14) nights, in the Mediterranean and in the Black Sea through November featuring twenty-five (25) new ports of call, many with overnight stays in several ports. One of her cruises cruise will be in Cannes for four days during the film festival. See the Celebrity Expeditions press release for further details.
Mysteriously, there's nothing about where MV Celebrity Quest will go when she leaves the Mediterranean. Could she be headed through the Suez Canal and the Red Sea, then across the Indian Ocean, to the South Pacific? Curious minds want to know....
