I did a similar cruise aboard GTS Infinity last October, and the weather was splendid. We did get a brief light shower while ashore in Honolulu, but we did not even get rain in Hilo -- which is on the windward, and therefore rainy, side of the "Big Island." The weather may be somewhat cool during the first two days at sea and the last two days at sea, but the weather in the islands should be splendid!

Norm.

I hate to send you to another site but go to www.princesscruises.com and click on the Diamond Princess cruises to Hawaii - when the itinerary comes up - click on the individual ports and a brief description of each port along with
temps, humidity and rainfall will come up. Hope this helps.

We were on the Summit to Hawaii from Vancouver a few years ago and
had wonderful weather. Seas were calm all the way over. Weather great
in the islands as well. Kauai helicopter trip was awesome. No rain on
top of the mountains. As you well know, however, there are no guarantees. Have a great time and plan for the worst and hope for the best.

My thanks to all who responded to my question.... I feel much better now! Can't wait until October; however, don't want to wish my summer away.
I appreciate the comments.

Hi Sandy!

This was the best cruise! Of course, being the longest one I have done by 4 days probably helps.

We went on the Summit to Hawaii in Dec 05. The weather was beautiful in the islands, but going over we had bumpy seas. It was so bad it beat the paint off the bow of the boat!! But being on this class of ship we still didn't feel it too much.

I am going to try and link to an image (for the 1st time)

Every cruise is unique. Go and have a blast

We have sailed on Summit twice to Hawaii. The first time was a transition cruise to Vancouver which had 5 days at sea in May '02. The seas were like glass.

The second time was roundtrip from LA for 14 days in Jan '06. A little bumpy (& cold!) the first 2 days but then warmed up nicely as we approached the South Pacific. You can expect a few showers (or "liquid sunshine" as the natives call it) but nothing lasting. I think the fall is one of the better seasons in Hawaii.

You will love Summit. Hope you got a balcony cabin. We sure enjoyed having breakfast sitting in front of our open balcony door looking at the sea. You can read my review on both of these cruises on this site.
