Default Sailing on Journey 5/19/07

IsF anyone is sailing on the journey before or during the may 19 sailin, I would love to hear about your experience. We are sailing with 16 peaple and would love a "heads up" about what to expect! We originally booked to sail on Zenith as we had such a great experience on her several years ago. Then the switch came! It is exciting, but I can't get answers about the two extra dining rooms or if they have a dedicated childrens area or program. Terri

The 2 specialty dining rooms are pay to play.

There isn’t a formal children’s program on these ships. Families who bring children can schedule in-stateroom babysitting for $8.00 an hour. Families staying in suites can borrow movies from the ship’s DVD library. LeapFrog SchoolHouse products will be available for rent. On port days, shore excursions deemed “easy? may be ideal for families with children. Limited youth staff (only on peak-season Bermuda sailings) will be assisting with activities such as games, talent shows and facepainting. Additionally, we will be offering rentals of LeapPads, Leapsters and Sony PSP (Portable PlayStation) units, as well as treasure chests full of toys for toddlers to borrow. In-stateroom baby-sitting will still be available in the evening, first come-first served, based on availability of staff, never guaranteed.

Default Reports from First Cruise

Saw some comments from first cruise. Not smooth sailing in every sense of the word. Left a day late. They got full refunds, but many things were still under construction, with few of the amenities that had been so highly touted. For one thing, the 'butler for every stateroom' is nothing more than the room steward, except in the suites. However, even those with major problems (backed up toilets, freezing AC, etc) said it is a beautiful ship and no doubt service and amenities will improve with time.

Nothing for kids to do; wouldn't recommend even bringing teens on this trip.

Dining experiences in main dining room and 2 specialty restaurants were thought by all to be exceptional!

Website has been updated to indicate a full Kids progam (no facility, as such) for the sailings starting 5/19. Hoping the kinks are worked out by the time I sail in June!

Default Journey

There are dozens of discussions about this ship on cruisecritic.com
I am sailing 5/26 - the reviews - other than food- have been HORRIBLE.
not a good start to a new cruise line !
